Join Our Research Team: Two funded Postdoc/Ph.D. Graduate/Ph.D. candidate/Postgraduate (M.Sc.) Positions Starting in 2025

Our research group at the University of West Attica (UNIWA) is delighted to announce two funded Postdoc/Ph.D./Ph.D. candidate/Postgraduate (M.Sc.) positions starting in 2025.

These positions are part of the project titled “Three-dimensional seismic isolation of sensitive artefacts and equipment by Geared Rocking/Rolling Inverse Pendulum System (3DGRIPS)”. Recently awarded top honors by the Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation (ranking 1st (97.6%) among 121 proposals), this project offers an exceptional opportunity to engage in groundbreaking research. The work encompasses theoretical, computational, and experimental studies in the field of Structural Dynamics and is conducted in collaboration with the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA).

Educational and Technical Requirements:

  • Applicants must hold an M.Sc. degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering. Candidates with qualifications in related fields may also be considered, provided they meet the necessary technical and research requirements. The positions are particularly well-suited for postgraduate students with an M.Sc. (or integrated M.Sc.) who are interested in pursuing a Ph.D. candidacy.
  • Solid programming experience in any language is strongly desirable.

Position-Specific Requirements:

  • Postdoc/Ph.D. Graduate/Ph.D. Candidate/Postgraduate (M.Sc.) Position #1: Strong background in Computational Mechanics and Structural Dynamics.
  • Postdoc/Ph.D. Graduate/Ph.D. Candidate/Postgraduate (M.Sc.) Position #2: Strong background in Experimental Structural Dynamics.

Position Details and Eligibility:

Funding is available for 48 months.

  • The positions are open to EU nationals. While proficiency in Greek is an advantage, it is not mandatory.
  • Applicants from countries outside the EU are welcome to apply, provided they already possess a valid permit to work in Greece, due to funding restrictions.
