This paper presents the basic features of mySpec, a computer program that has been designed to enhance learning in subjects that cover structural dynamics, earthquake engineering and hysteretic systems in graduate and post-graduate level. The program features a fully graphical interface with many interactive capabilities and covers the following topics: linear elastic analysis, linear elastic response spectra, non-linear analysis (bilinear) and Bouc-Wen hysteretic systems with arbitrary excitation force, either alone or combined with an earthquake accelerogram. Viscous damping can be used in all cases. The program is freely distributed through the Internet.
